Annual Seminar on Bilingual Education "Good practices in the classroom"
Consejería de Educación, Universidades, Ciencia y Portavocía de la Comunidad de Madrid y el Instituto Franklin de la Universidad de Alcalá and Instituto Franklin de la Universidad de Alcalá organize, within the collaboration framework started in 2017, a seminar described as a forum for analysis and demonstration of the good practices in the field of bilingual education in Spain.
The objective of the seminar is to promote the exchange of information, analysis and sharing the good practices in the environment of bilingual teaching in Spanish-English for teachers and students, incorporating the reality of our classrooms according to the Organic Law 3/2020, of December 29 (LOMLOE).
The digital teaching competences of the Digital Teaching Competence Framework will be developed, especially in the areas of professional commitment, digital content and evaluation and feedback.
Tools and strategies will be offered to assess both student learning and teaching processes and their own teaching practice within the new LOMLOE framework.
Finally, collaboration strategies will be applied between the teachers of bilingual centers and the native English speaking language assistants.

Training credit
Attendees who are teachers from the Community of Madrid may receive a training credit. To achieve this, they will have to register with educa.madrid.org email address, attend all hours of the event, the three days it lasts, and justify their attendance using the signature sheets that will be provided during the seminar.
Best Practices Award:
Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Estudios Norteamericanos "Benjamin Franklin" de la Universidad de Alcalá, within the framework of its research line on Bilingual Education, announces the "Teach & Learn a las Buenas Prácticas 2023" award, which consists of two labor exchanges valued at 3000 € each to carry out an observation assignment in a school or educational center in New York.
Terms
- Candidates must be a member of a school or high school faculty, charter or private of Comunidad de Madrid collaborating with Instituto Franklin-UAH.
- Candidate teachers must be collaborating in the classroom with a language assistant from the Teach & Learn program from Instituto Franklin-UAH.
- Teachers will have to attend the annual seminar about bilingual education organized by Instituto Franklin-UAH and Comunidad de Madrid the upcoming February the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of 2023.
- Teachers will have to be available to travel the next October, 2023
- As a result of their staying in New York, teacher must elaborate a report about excelling on the internship in the bilingual classroom which will be published subsequently in one of Instituto Franklin-UAH’s publications

Esta actividad formativa trata de poner claridad en los conceptos relativos a la evaluación del aprendizaje del alumnado, al tiempo que ofrece estrategias para la puesta en práctica de la misma de forma formativa, objetiva y transparente, dentro del nuevo marco normativo que propone la LOMLOE. Este taller será impartido por Matthew Johnson.

El propósito principal de esta formación es fomentar la colaboración entre el profesorado y los auxiliares de conversación nativos de centros bilingües con el fin de optimizar los recursos y el tiempo en el aula. Este taller será impartido por Iulia Vescan.
