Una mirada al cine chicano: Robert Rodriguez en la era transnacional
This book proposes new keys to understanding the work of film director Robert Rodriguez from a transnational perspective. In it, the author argues that Robert Rodriguez’s adherence to Chicano postulates from a privileged position within commercial cinema allows his work to promote a renewed representation of the diversity of Latinos in Hollywood. Rodriguez’s cinema, through the interrelation between the Chicano/Hispanic world and the Anglo-American world, adopts Hollywood conventions while strongly evoking Chicano postulates, offering a refreshing panorama of Latinidad in American cinema.
