My interest in ecology had been growing in recent years, but it was the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic that radically changed my attitude. Not only because it was a warning of catastrophes to come, but also because the confinement revealed to me how important nature is to me. I also realised that in addition to my ecological commitment in my personal life, I wanted to address the issue in my professional life. Since then, I have been teaching ecology in my classes and researching ecocritical issues.
D. in French Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2017, she is currently Assistant Professor in the area of French in the Department of Romance, French, Italian and Translation Studies at the same university. She is currently coordinator of the European Erasmus+ KA2 project "Training and Realising Innovations in Internationalisation at Home Pedagogies" (TRIP) at the Complutense University (2022-2025) and participates in the teaching innovation project "Environmental humanities in university classrooms: a cross-disciplinary and inter-faculty proposal" (2021-22, 2022-23). Her latest scientific publications in journals (Anales de Filología Francesa, Human Review) deal with the teaching of ecology in French as a foreign language. She belongs to two research groups: GIECO at the University of Alcalá and Literary and Cultural Studies and Gender Studies at the Complutense University. She is secretary of Thélème. Complutense Journal of French Studies.
Lines of research: 20th and 21st century French and Francophone literature. Within the field of ecocriticism: ecofeminism, ecofictions and the representation of animals.
