The overall aim of this conference jointly organized by the Instituto Franklin-UAH and the College of Arts & Humanities of the University of Central Florida, was to discuss issues such as emigration and immigration, expatriation, exile, immigrant writing, hyphenation, cultural boundaries, the breaking of such boundaries, as they are all closely linked to the United States of America. .
