I am passionate about travelling and meeting people with different interests and dreams, cultures, landscapes, languages, languages.... I believe in cooperation and mutual development in multilingual and multicultural environments, and I value the power of the word as a source of communication and its transformative power. These principles are reflected both in my attitude to life and in my teaching and research activities.

Professor of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Alcalá, translator and writer. Master's degree in Migration and Intercommunity Relations. Director of the University Master's Degree in Intercultural Communication, Public Service Interpreting and Translation, from its beginning (1999) until 2018 and currently co-director of the same. She was also the director of the Master's Degree in (Business) Conference Interpreting (MICONE) from 2018 till 2022, and currently co-director of the same. She is the coordinator of the high-performance research group FITISPos (https://fitisposgrupo.web.uah.es/), and of the research group TISP*- ODS-UAH, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda. She is also the founder and co-director of the peer- review journal FITISpos International Journal (https://fitisposij.web.uah.es/), focused on translation and interpreting in public services (also called community interpreting and translation), with special emphasis on minority languages or languages of migration, and reflecting her passion for communication in multilingual and multicultural environments. She has published and coordinated more than a dozen books, and numerous journal articles and book chapters with recent titles such as The Human Factor in TISP. She organises the annual seminar Myths in indigenous communities, interpreted, translated, adapted with the aim of exploring myths originating in different spaces and moments in our history and whose contributions in 2021 and 2022 can be seen on youtube. Along the same lines, she coordinated volume 5 of ECOZONA, with the topic “Translating Environmental Humanities” (2014), which includes an introductory article on the subject ("Introduction. Translating Environmental Humanities" http://www.ecozona.eu/index.php/journal/issue/view/14/showToc She has published several articles with the aim of showing how translation can change reality.
