- An undergraduate degree (Bachelor or equivalent) before the start of the program. To enroll in the 2026/2027 academic year, prospective students who are graduating college seniors shall earn the degree by June 1st, 2026. This date must be stated on their graduation verification letters and/or diplomas.
- A 3.0 GPA or greater on a 4.0 GPA scale (where 4.0 is the highest GPA possible) in your undergraduate degree.
- Native English speaker with a passport from one of the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, India, Jamaica, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom, or the United States. If you have a passport from another English-speaking country, please email us about eligibility for this program. *Please note that we follow the English language level requirements of the Spanish Ministry of Education's language assistantship program. If the Spanish Ministry of Education requires the submission of a language proficiency certificate for candidates from your country, you will need to submit a language proficiency certificate as part of your application. - A recommended B2 (intermediate) level of Spanish for masters with subjects taught in Spanish.
- IMPORTANT: The Teach & Learn in Spain Program does not engage with any agents or intermediaries for admissions. Our Master's programs and school placements are exclusively advertised and managed directly by our office (admissions@institutofranklin.net) and through our official website. Please refrain from making any payments to individuals or entities claiming to represent our program unless it is directly through our official channels. Any applications submitted through a third party will not be considered. We will not respond to any email accounts created by third parties. We engage with prospective and admitted students directly.
Applications for the 2026-2027 cohort will be accepted from January 12th to March 20th, 2026.
All applicants will be notified of their application status via email.
Accepted students who do not make the first payment/deposit by the established deadline will have their admission offer revoked.
Applying to the Teach & Learn in Spain Program
Application Form
You will have to:
- Complete the online application form. In this form you will need to enter details about your academic history, include the contact information for two references, and select your preferred funding option.
- Attach your application documents.
- Submit your application video via WeTransfer.
- Pay the non-refundable fee of 150€.
Once the application has been submitted, it cannot be modified.
Before you start filling out the Application Form:
- Please note that while your application is in process, it cannot be saved.
- Review the description of the required documents before starting your application. The information entered in the online application, attached documents, application video and recommendation letters, is subject to verification. Make sure that all the information provided in the application is accurate. Your application may be rescinded if the information cannot be verified.
- Make sure you have PDFs of all your application documents ready to upload. If a document consists of several pages, please scan it in a single PDF format file. Please save files as Last Name, First Name_Type of Document (e.g. Smith, Jessica_Passport).
- Make sure you have your application video ready to send via WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) to admissions@institutofranklin.net. Your video should be no longer than three (3) minutes in length and have a maximum file size of 2 GB. You may record your video using the platform of your choice (Vimeo, QuickTime Player, smartphone, etc.) . The file should be named as Last Name, First Name_Video (e.g. Smith, Jessica_Video). You will receive an email from WeTransfer once we have downloaded your file. If We Transfer generates a password to your video transfer, please send it via email to admissions@institutofranklin.net with the subject Last Name, Name_WeTransfer Password.
- When uploading files to your application, make sure that the documents are legible, clearly scanned, and no larger than 2 MB. If you have any issues at uploading documents, please submit compressed files and then send versions with a higher resolution via email as attachments or through a secure file-sharing website.
- The Teach & Learn in Spain program accepts references from professors, professional mentors, managers, supervisors or coordinators who can speak extensively about your experience and/or work ethic.
- Be sure that your full name appears in all of your documents as it is in your passport (last name, name[s], and middle name). If there are inconsistencies with names across documentation for the same person (e.g. abbreviated or missing middle names or different last names), Postgraduate Admissions will ask you to submit additional documents.
- If you are a current Language Assistant (Auxiliar de Conversación) in the NALCAP program and are selecting Option B, please email admissions@institutofranklin.net before applying to confirm eligibility.
- Submit a non-refundable application fee of 150€, via PayPal. You do not need an account to pay via PayPal.
Please note, our admissions team may contact you to request a virtual interview to supplement your application. Candidates who are not offered an interview are not at any disadvantage in the admissions process.
In order for your application to be processed, the required documents must be submitted via the online application form:
- Undergraduate diploma in PDF format. If you have not yet graduated, you must provide an official letter from your university in PDF format confirming your enrollment and stating your anticipated graduation date will be by June 1st, 2026, as well as the exact name of the degree that will be conferred. Please note that holding an undergraduate diploma is a prerequisite for the Teach & Learn in Spain program. Upload a PDF with the file name Last name, First name_Diploma or Last name, First name_Letter of Enrollment (e.g. Smith, Jessica_Diploma, or Smith, Jessica_Letter of Enrollment). If you hold a graduate degree(s), please include the diploma(s) as part of your attachments with the file name Last name, First name_ Graduate Diploma(s), e.g. Smith, Jessica_Graduate Diploma. Please note that all prospective students who are graduate degree holders must submit a scanned version of their undergraduate diploma and transcript(s) as part of their application.
- Official or unofficial undergraduate transcripts in PDF format with the file name Last name, First name_(Un)official Transcripts (ex: Smith, Jessica_(Un)official Transcripts).
- Passport in PDF format with the file name Last name, First name_Passport. (e.g. Smith, Jessica_Passport).
- Application video with the file name Last name, First name_Video (p.ej. Smith, Jessica_Video). Please review the Application Video Guide for more information.
- Resume/CV in PDF format with the file name Last name, First name_CV (e.g. Smith, Jessica_Resume).
- An ID-style photo of yourself in PDF, JPG, or JPEG format with no more than 240×200 pixels, on a light-colored background, with the file name Last name, First name_Photo (e.g. Smith, Jessica Photo).

Don't have your undergraduate diploma yet?
You can still apply for the Teach & Learn in Spain program! Submit your application documents during the application window, but instead of providing your diploma and final transcripts, you are required to submit:
- An official letter from your university confirming your expected graduation date and the exact name of the degree that will be awarded. For the 2026/2027 academic year, graduating college seniors must have a prospective graduation date of no later than June 1st, 2026.
- Your most recent unofficial transcripts.
Once accepted, additional documents will be required. These documents are outlined in the relevant application checklist, which will be sent to the students upon acceptance to the Teach & Learn in Spain Program.
