In the face of an unprecedented ecocide and ecological crisis in our capitalist societies of the Global North, I feel a great personal commitment to an animated and intelligent world with a capacity for communication and agency, and a deep interconnection with all sentient beings on this planet; recognising that human beings are only a small part of the natural world, an extraordinary symbiotic web of life to which we belong to and, therefore, must care for.
Being part of the GIECO research group allows me to extend this commitment to my teaching and research in the field of North American Literary and Cultural Studies and Gender/Feminist Studies. I deeply believe in the potential of ecofictions and ecopoetics to shake consciences and awaken hearts. In this spirit, I explore ecofeminist, intersectional and post-human imaginaries, capable of feel-thinking possible, sustainable, and hopeful futures that promote both intercultural decolonial alliances and multispecies dialogues.
