He is a Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Louisville, Honorary Professor at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Visiting Professor in the English Department and the Centre for Gender Studies at Aarhus University (1997). His areas of research include studies on Literature, Films and Gender in America.
