The “EU-US Marine Biodiversity” research group covers different areas of research such as the marine bioacoustics for the study and monitoring of cetaceans, other marine resources and the analysis of environmental marine noise and its impacts; the study of interoperability between marine e-infrastructures and databases (“Scientific Data Sharing”) to both European and US levels, the use of Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) specialized in the marine environment (Arc Marine) and other “Open Source” software, the study of the genetics of marine invertebrates and their taxonomy, among others.
