Coinciding with the bicentennial of the birth of Edgar Allan Poe, this careful selection of articles by different academics inspired by the rethinking of Poe's work in a new century of a society in crisis, not only economic, but social and cultural, comes to light. The relationship between the writer and his work are topics as current as the current crisis, which also generates interest among scholars from other areas related to the United States. This work is a contribution to the ever-growing interest in Poe's life and work, combining both the point of view of international specialists and perception in Spain. In this way, the book comprises six sections related to her work and perception of it from an interdisciplinary perspective.
