Summary:
The analysis of the historical links between Spain and North America is vital for the ever growing area of transatlantic studies. This book brings together fourteen articles with interdisciplinary approaches organized around the idea of transatlantic views on legal, political, literary, linguistic, artistic and pedagogical issues. These articles are the result of the III international congress on the historical links between Spain and North America organized by the Instituto Franklin de la Universidad de Alcalá, the City College of New York Division of Interdisciplinary Studies (CUNY), and the Cervantes Institute (26-28 April 2017, Alcalá de Henares)

Profesor titular de estudios culturales latinoamericanos y director del Departamento de Estudios Interdisciplinarios de City College of the City University of New York. Ha editado trece antologías literarias y publicado varios libros de poemas, entre ellos The New York City Subway Poems –Poemas del metro de Nueva York (Ashland Poetry Press -Ashland University-: Ohio, 2020), premio Juan Felipe Herrera al mejor libro bilingüe de poesía en ILBA 2021. En 2021 The Academy of American Poets le otorgó el Ambroggio Prize, único premio nacional para un autor cuya primera lengua sea español por su libro Cardinal in My Window with a Mask on Its Beak traducido por Jennifer Rathbun (Arizona University Press, 2022). Es el fundador y editor en jefe de Artepoética Press en Nueva York. Coordina Americas Film Festival of New York y dirige The Americas Poetry Festival of New York. Desde 2021, es columnista en Newsweek En Español.
