There are personal and biographical reasons for my interest in the environment as I grew up surrounded by nature. I am fully aware of the dangers we face if we do not care for and protect the planet we inhabit.
Ph.D. in English Philology from the University of Salamanca, María Antonia Mezquita Fernández is a lecturer in the Department of English Philology at the University of Valladolid and has also been a lecturer in the Department of Modern Philology at the University of León. Her topics of interest are related to ecocriticism in comparative literature and popular culture. She has participated in the projects CLYMA (Cultura, Literatura and Medioambiente) (Ref.: IUENUAH 2009-03), ACIS & GALATEA.
