Talk with Sheriff Koutoujian
Instituto Franklin-UAH organizes a talk with Sheriff of Middlesex County, Peter J. Koutoujian, on US Institutions and the political process to the position of County Sheriff.
The lecture is addressed to students of the course "US Institutions and Organizations" of the Master in American Studies.

A career public servant, Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian has overseen one of the nation’s oldest law enforcement agencies - the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office- as it has become a nationally recognized leader, known for its innovation and professional excellence.
Sheriff Koutoujian brings to the position experience as both a prosecutor and legislator working on a host of critical topics, including numerous public health issues.
During his tenue in office, Sheriff Koutoujian has launched a number of critical initiatives including the Medication Assisted Treatment and Directed Opioid Recovery (MATADOR) program, as well as the Commonwealth’s first specialized housing units for military veterans (HUMV) and young adult offenders (PACT).
In addition to leading the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, he currently serves as President of the Major County Sheriffs of America and is a founding member of Law Enforcement Leaders to Reduce Crime and Incarceration. He is also a past president of the Massachusetts Sheriffs’ Association.
