Round table on the presence of women in the United States Congress
On the occasion of the International Women's Day, Instituto Franklin-UAH and the American International Institute are hosting a round table on the presence of women in the US Congress through the figure of Edith Nourse Rogers. Edith N. Rogers is the second longest serving woman in the Congress of the United States. It is to the unknown figure of Congresswoman Rogers that the United States owes the incorporation of women into the military, among other unthinkable achievements for her time.
In addition, the book La mujer en el Congreso estadounidense a partir de 1920: el caso de Edith Nourse Rogers, written by Antonio Daniel Juan Rubio will be presented.
Place: The event will be held at the Paraninfo of the American International Institute
Attendance: Free attendance up to full capacity (50 % of the capacity is allowed according to safety measures)
The event will be held on March 9th, 2021 at 6pm.
