Presentation of the book La prensa norteamericana ante el Holocausto: ¿Testigo o cómplice?
Please confirm your attendance
This book analyzes the role of the most relevant American press, during the period of the Genocide committed by the Nazis against the Jewish people in Europe. In the book, the author states that the press, and by association the most influential American media during the period from 1933 to 1945, did not do enough to inform, reveal and report the tragedy experienced by the Jews in Europe at the hands of Nazis, also known as the Holocaust. This attitude made some media sources impassive witnesses of the horror; an attitude that must never repeat itself in the presence of reportable events.
It will be presented by Luisa Juárez, professor of Modern Philology at the Universidad de Alcalá and researcher of the Instituto Franklin-UAH.
