Professor at the Department of English and American Literature, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He received his PhD at this same institution –where he also took his undergraduate degree– in 2006. He is the first PhD in English Philology that obtained the mention Doctor Europeus. His doctoral thesis, "Formación y Representación de la Ideología Moderna en la Literatura Inglesa del Siglo XIX" (dissertation which he conducted under the funding program Formación del Profesorado Universitario –Training for University Teaching Staff–, 2001-2004, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science) constitutes an extensive and systematic reflection on the role Nietzschean philosophy played in the development of English literature within the 19th-century and the beginning of the 20th. He has been developing his research along these lines for several years and through academic sojourns in various European universities, such as Edinburgh or Leiden (in the latter he obtain the degree in Master of Arts in English Literature in 2003).
