Researching in the field of ecopoetics and ecocriticism has marked a turning point in my academic trajectory, as it has allowed me to harmonize my way of life, my values, and my commitment to non-human beings and nature with a rigorous analysis of Francophone literatures. Being part of GIECO offers stimulating and enriching exchanges with researchers who share similar concerns.
PhD in French Philology from the University of Oviedo (2010), she is an Associate Professor in the Department of English, French and German Philology at the same university. She is an external collaborator with the Musée et Archives de la Littérature (Brussels). Her research focuses on Francophone literatures, particularly Belgian literature. She is currently working on the perception of environmental degradation in Belgium at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, as well as on contemporary narratives. In 2025, she was invited to deliver a lecture series entitled “L’engagement écologique dans la littérature belge de langue française” within the framework of the Émile Lorand Chair for French Literature (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, VUB). She also teaches a module on ecofeminism in the Master’s programme in Gender and Diversity at the University of Oviedo.
Research interests: ecopoetics and ecocriticism, ecofeminism, Francophone literatures, Belgian fin-de-siècle literature, contemporary narratives.
