Two publication grants awarded for the Benjamin Franklin Collection
On February 17th, 2025, there was a meeting of the Instituto Franklin-UAH’s Benjamin Franklin Collection Selection Committee, in which they decided to award two publication grants to the research work “Fitzgerald en España” by Esther Segura Camazón, PhD in English Philology from the Universidad de Sevilla, and “Twice Americans: (re)cartografiar el ecosistema de la literatura en español made in USA”, by Silvia Lunardi, PhD in Philosophy from the Università Ca' Foscari Venezia and the Sorbonne Université.
The committee was comprised by Elena Martínez, director of the Department of Economics of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas, Empresariales y Turismo of the Universidad de Alcalá, as president, Esperanza Cerdá, academic secretary of the Instituto Franklin-UAH, as secretary, and Ana Lariño, director of Research and External Affairs of the Instituto Franklin-UAH, as member of the board.
The Benjamin Franklin Collection was created with the purpose of fulfilling the fundamental mission of the Instituto Franklin-UAH; that is, to serve as a communicative, cooperative, and unifying platform between Spain and North America, with the objective of promoting mutual knowledge. The studies promoted and carried out by the Instituto deal with aspects related to North America and fall into three categories: North American Studies, Transatlantic Relations and Comparative/Interdisciplinary Studies.
