The Instituto Franklin-UAH resumes the Thanksgiving Breakfasts with the dialogue between José Ignacio Goirigolzarri and María Sarabia
On November 29th, 2023, on the occasion of the celebration of Thanksgiving Day last Thursday, November 23rd, the Instituto Franklin-UAH organized the II Thanksgiving Breakfast at the Hostería del Estudiante in Alcalá de Henares, with the participation of José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, President of CaixaBank and member of the Advisory Council of the Instituto Franklin-UAH, and María Sarabia, Professor of Business Organization and Vice-Chancellor of Institutional Relations and Coordination of the Universidad de Alcalá.
The event was welcomed by José Antonio Gurpegui, Director of the Instituto Franklin-UAH, the Chancellor of the Universidad de Alcalá, José Vicente Saz, and the mayor of the Alcalá de Henares City Council, Judith Piquet. After the welcome words, the conversation “Challenges, Perspectives and Singularities of the Spanish Economic Model” took place between José Ignacio Goirigolzarri and María Sarabia. This session of dialogue and exchange of ideas provided a broad vision about the current situation and challenges of the Spanish economic panorama, the development of sustainability, ending with the new future actions promoted by CaixaBank. This event was attended by businessmen and women from Alcalá de Henares, members of the municipal corporation, members of the associations of the city of Alcalá de Henares, and members of the Advisory and Academic Council of the Instituto Franklin-UAH.
The Franklin Breakfasts aim to promote the promotion of constructive dialogue and exchange of ideas between the academic and business community, bringing the Instituto Franklin-UAH closer to society and companies in the Henares Corridor. The first breakfast took place on November 29th, 2019 with the participation of Antonio Vázquez, former president of International Airlines Group (IAG), the group that owns the airlines Iberia, British Airways, Aer Lingus and Vueling.
