
Course: Intercultural Communication
Christine Pease-Hernandez is an Assistant Professor of communication at Slippery Rock University. She teaches and engages in scholarship in the areas of intercultural communication, communication concepts/theory, public speaking, career development/job search methods in communication, and critical pedagogy. Dr. Pease-Hernandez is a member of the Ohio Communication Association, the Eastern Communication Association and the National Communication Association.
Dr. Pease-Hernandez's extensive university service has included, Co-Chair of the President's Commission on Race and Ethnic Diversity, Co-Chair of the Hispanic/Latino Cultures Series Planning Committee, Presidential Search Committee, CBISS Dean's Search Committee, Respect Campaign, and the Jump Start Advisory Board. She was also elected to serve APSCUF as an Alternate Delegate. In the Strategic Communication and Media Department she has served on the Faculty Evaluation Committee, on the Curriculum Committee and on the Public Speaking Search Committee. She advises between 35-40 advisees each academic year. As part of the Junior and Senior Seminar courses, Dr. Pease-Hernandez works closely with members of the Strategic Communication and Media Department Advisory Board and recruits Strategic Communication and Media Department Alumni with the intent of offering seniors exposure to contemporary career development practices.
