She has completed two research stays at Harvard University (2001-2002) and one full-year research stay at the University of Louisville (2014-2015). In 2010, she participated in the Study of the United States Institute on Contemporary American Literature program at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, with a Fulbright and the US Department of State scholarship. Her research lines and current teaching are related to American Literature of the 20th and 21st Century, Postmodernism and Contemporary Fiction, Counterculture of the United States, Minority Literature in the United States (especially Chicano Literature), Psychology and Psychoanalysis applied to Literature and Trauma Studies.
