Honorary Professor at Research at the Universidad de Alcalá and pioneer in eco-criticism in Spain. She is the general editor of Ecozon@. European Magazine of Literature, Culture and Environment, sponsored by the Instituto Franklin-UAH she was president of the European Association, EASLCE 2008-2010. She has been member of the Instituto Franklin Academic Broad since its inception. She founded and coordinated the research group in Ecocritica, GIECO, attached to the Instituto Franklin-UAH, until her retirement. Her publications focus on ecocriticism and ecofeminism, especially in contemporary literature of ethnic minorities in the United States as well as in contemporary Spanish literature.
